유압을 이용하여 선박의 Cargo Tank 나 Ballast Tank 내에 설치되어 있는 밸브들을 원격 (Wheelhouse, 항해실에서 Control Panel 상의 Push Button) 에 의해 편리하게 개폐시킬 수 있는 장치이다. VRC는 Butterfly Valve와 Hydraulic Actuator, Hydraulic Power Unit, Solenoid, Valve Cabinet, Control Console 등으로 구성되며, 여러 개의 밸브를 하나의 중앙 집중식 Console에서 원격 조작할 수 있다.

주로 선박의 Cargo Tank나 Ballast Tank, 해양플랜트의 Storage Tank나 Mud Room, Ballast Tank, 등에 사용된다.
